What inspired you to start writing?
“Dearrrr Light: I’ve always loved storytelling. As a child, I would create elaborate tales for my friends and family.
However, it wasn’t until I took a creative writing class in college that I realized I wanted to pursue writing seriously.
Actually, it was the thrill of crafting characters and worlds captivated me, and immediately, I knew I had to keep exploring that passion. “
Can you describe your writing process?
“Dearrrr Light: My writing process is quite organic. I usually start with a rough outline of my story, but I still allow myself the freedom to deviate from it as inspiration strikes.
Remarkably, I find that some of my best ideas come when I’m in the flow of writing. Coupled with this, I set aside dedicated time each day to write, which helps me stay disciplined and focused. “
Challenges you’ve faced as a writer, and how did you overcome them?
“Dearrrr Light: One of the biggest challenges for me has been self-doubt. There are moments when I question whether my writing is good enough or if my stories are worth telling.
To combat this, I remind myself that every writer experiences these feelings. Also, engaging with the community at the Writer’s Growth Academy has also been incredibly helpful. This is because, it enables me to share my work with others and receive constructive feedback, which has boosted my confidence tremendously. “
How has the Writer’s Growth Academy impacted your writing journey?
“Dearrrr Light: The Writer’s Growth Academy has been a game-changer for me. The structured approach to learning about different aspects of writing, like character development, plot structure, and editing, has provided me with invaluable tools.
Additionally, connecting with other writers has created a supportive environment where we can share our struggles and successes. “
An advice would you give to aspiring writers?
“Dearrrr Light: My biggest piece of advice is to write regularly and not be afraid to make mistakes. Writing is a journey filled with ups and downs, but every word you put on the page brings you closer to your goals. So, ensure to embrace feedback and keep honing your craft. And most importantly, enjoy the process! “
